Laidback and lovely, Byron Bay in North Coast New South Wales is a firm favourite of many East Coast travellers. It's a pleasant little town where surfers, spa-seekers and alternative thinkers mingle peacefully.
Busy morning
- Hike up to the lighthouse and take a guided tour
- Explore the bay by sea kayak, looking out for wild dolphins
- Catch a wave with the smart surfing set
Lazy afternoon
- Relax with a herbal infusion at the famously hippyish Byronian Cafe
- Potter around the shops selling beads, boards, books and bikinis in the centre of town
- Join the crowd for a drink at the Beach Hotel
